I've encountered a drunken person yesterday at work just before noon during a signage checking in the hotel. The moment I came out from the staircase on 16th floor, a man in his late 30s were wondering around in the guest lift area. I was startled by him and he looked lost. The moment he tried to enquire something, I could smell the strong alcohol scent coming out from his breath. It was horrible. He was drunk at noon and I was finding a hard time trying to catch what he was trying to say. He was slurring the whole time and he looked frustrated with the feeling he was having.
He told me that he could not find his friend's room which I then immediately asked for his friend's name. Since he was slurring all the way, I instructed him to write down his friend's name on a piece of paper. I phoned the in house operator to transfer me to the front desk and told them to find out the room number for me. Apparently, the room is on the 18th floor not on the 16th floor. I told the man that his friend's room is on the 18th floor and I asked if he needed me to escort him to his room. The moment I said that, he was almost thankful and relieved coz he was really in a bad shape.

So I took him to his floor, helped him to insert his room card to unlock the door. After I inserted his card, I returned him the card while he thanked me as I turned around to leave. As I was walking away, the man was struggling to open his door. So I turned back and helped him with it again. I couldn't open the door either but after a few try, someone opened the door. The man thanked me again and I immediately walked away.
I told Clarisse (my colleague) about it when I got back to the office. She sounded to me that I should have called the security first. I know I would have been dead by now if those guys pushed me into the room, raped me and chopped me into pieces or something. I didn't think of it that time. I told Su (another colleague) about it later during lunch and she was literally scolding me. Aiks!! Though I don't think those guys meant any harm at all but I know I shouldn't misjudge it. Well, I am going to be more careful in the future.
Then again, who gets drunk till noon?? Yikes!
